Hey folk. I can't find anywhere on the Bell site that gives info' on their highest resolutiion output. Before anyone bitches at me for asking this, I know I've asked in here about the rez' differences between the providers. I'd just like to see it on the site. Cheers.

The Bell HD receivers can be set to output at 1080i but at this moment in time, all the signals from the Sats are at 720p.

With a software update, all the current HD receivers can output 1080p.

Hey Pinza, cheers. What does this mean, actually? I mean, isn't this just some form of upscaling?

I doubt that we need another thread talking about this subject as it has been well covered but basically if the signals are at 720p from Sat to Receiver, most people leave the Receiver set at 720p to output to the TV and are happy with the image, well as happy as we can be, due to compression.

If the native res of the TV is 1080, then the TV will do the conversion as it usually handles it better than the Receiver.

My understanding, is that the fewer times you 'convert' signals the better, others may well disagree.....

Here are the FAQs that answer the questions.

BTV may not want that information on their website!

I have used a PC capture card before which shows Bell only output 720P max on HD channels. It's even lower on most days. 720P lcd is good enough for belltv. cheers. =)
