Say it ain't so.
Frank and Gordon are no more, boohoo
I actually liked the characters, did you?
I wonder what Bell's new advertising campaign will look like

Oh, man....first they announce that they're gonna lay off 2500 employees....then two talking beavers get the axe!

That Ontario Teacher's Pension Fund has a lot to answer for..... :D

I would guess that even though they may ask people to change over, the old ones will still work. I know in Alberta as of a year ago the @agt.net still worked; even for people who never had internet through AGT. (The key was as long as you have an @telusplanet.net address.)

I like the new Logo. As for the re-branding of everything, I think they are just trying to get the Bell brand nailed into your head.

So I guess no more calling my system BEV, now it BTV? lol

What a shame. They were a great marketing bit. It'll be interesting to se what they come out with next.

The most memorable of their commercials was an ad I heard on Q107 a few years ago just after the Leafs got knocked out of the playoffs. The punch line was Gordon shaved, and then complained about feeling a draft. I nearly dropped my coffee over the shaved beaver punch line.:D:D

As I understand it new customers will be offered something like xxxx@bell while existing customers will be able to keep their current "sympatico" address.

That's odd because Bell employees all have uid@bell.ca email addresses. I would think they would want to keep those separate.

i guess this is based on their new site?

i like how under the Bell TV section theyre advertising "over 150 HD channels"

The new logo does not seem to be in use yet on bce or bell's main web sites. Anyone have a link to the new logo?

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I meant that the new customers would receive an address representative of the new name of Bell Internet while old customers could keep sympatico if they wished to. I was not stating that the address would end with "bell".

I don't know if this about saving money as much as it is about unifying their brand image.
Gone are the brand identifiers "Sympatico" and "ExpressVu". Two brand identifiers that were often used independently of the "Bell" collective brand.

Other than that, I guess that since they're no longer using yellow in the logo, their ink costs are going down ;)

The company I work for has had four major name changes, since I started working for them - sometimes due to acquisitions but not always. The name/logo/branding changes are always part of a bigger business model.

Noticed that a number of new promo's are now available on the HD Barker channel using the the new name and logo of Bell TV. Wonder when we will get a revision to the current software packages to update the various info screens on our receivers from ExpressVu to Bell TV.
