Hi everyone,

I may be opening a big can of worms here, but I have to ask. I am currently a Cogeco cable subscriber and I am pretty happy with them. My only pet peeve is the lack of HD channels.

Bell has been trying to woo me over for some time - each time they call their deal gets better and better. I want to get the HD PVR Plus unit. On the website it says that it supports one HD tv and one standard tv (when connecting to 2 tv's). I asked the Bell CSR about this who in turn asked his manager and he told me that information is outdated and it will support 2 HD tv's. I am a little sceptical of this...anyone know for sure?

Do you still need to connect the receivers to a phone line to receive updates?

Is there anything else I should know?

Thank you in advance!!

Well technically you can connect a 9242 to 2 HDTV's but the TV's will BOTH have the same image.......lol

The phone line connection is not really required unless you plan on ordering PPV movies etc, although it is a condition of the Customer Service Agreement you will be signing. They do not enforce this and hopefully never will.

All Updates come down from the satelitte when the receiver is turned off.

Yeah, 1 HD and 1 SD. Not that bad if the 2nd TV you have it hooked up too is not your primary tv. The HD channels still look slightly better than SD even with the SD output. I like it but if your going to be watching sports or something like that on the second tv you might not.
