Bell Internet & BEV packaging: price discrepancy?

When I look just at HD package offers it shows HD Essentials with a cost of $62 or $57 in a bundle. So I want to bundle this with internet. When I create my bundle the price for HD Essentials is $67. They told me this is because the cost would normally be $57 + $20 rental = $77 then with a $10 a month discount for 1 year. There is absolutely no info about this anywhere....only $10 discount is a PPV credit besides which I never specified which box I wanted.

My other question, pretending the price is accurate, is whether or not the hd pvr is included in the normal $62 cost for this package or is the actual cost $82? If I were to pay for the bundle I created online it does not let me choose what receiver I want. There is an option to choose an "additional" receiver, implying that the primary receiver is included.

However, if I try to purchase just the HD Essentials alone it is in fact $62 with a choice of which receiver I want for an extra $10 or $20.

Basically, why is the pricing so screwed up when I try and bundle this package?

Thanks!

Bell's web pages are often messed up. If you are a new subscriber, you should be able to get a better deal than this anyway. Free HD and PVR rental for up to a year is fairly typical. Installation is usually free as well. They will require a 2 year contract. You should be able to get bundle discounts on top of that. The PVR rental is not included in the $62 price so it will be $82. You should also be able to purchase the PVR for $299 net after credits.

Thanks...what's the best way to go about getting a better deal than the one posted? should i go into a bell store? I was just talking to someone who didn't get any of those things (free hd and rental) when they signed up.

Try here or here. I see 2 months free rental and programming is the current promotion. There is a $25 online order credit but I would call to see what is available before ordering online. Free installation is pretty standard as well. If you purchase a 9242, it is $599 up front with $300 in programming credits applied later. That is a good deal since you can keep it rent free or sell it after 2 years. (The rental works out to $440 over 2 years, more if you continue renting.) They had free HD for 6 months a while back. Of course, you can always negotiate if you find a better offer elsewhere.
