I am new to this particular board and have had GERD for the past year or so. Been on Nexium for 7 or 8 months, very recently having upped the dosage from once to twice daily (before bed, after awakening). I have an ulcerated esophagus, which was irritated further by a breathing tube put down my throat during knee surgery.
My gastroenterologist instructed me to avoid fatty fooRAB and mint, but nothing else. Well, my condition has gotten somewhat worse since my knee surgery, and although I have no heartburn or stuff coming up into my mouth or upper throat, I am almost constantly belching, especially after eating or drinking anything. I plan to see the doctor again in a few weeks, but I was wondering if any of you out there have any advice for me, based on your experience and on my condition as described.
Thank you.
