Beginner's strength training in the gym?

I'm a 25 year old female who has been out of the gym for a VERY long time. Now that I have rejoined, I am kind of clueless as to what to do. I want to work out on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. My goals are to burn fat and tone up and maintain kind of a swimmer's build (since I mostly swim for exercise). I also plan to throw in yoga a couple times a week. Any strength training tips?
