Hi gang,

Got my first phone in two years - an E62. It's really a fun phone. But I have 1-2 usage questions. The phone I tried before this was a window's mobile phone. The 3125 had trouble stopping programs so they stayed running in memory. Is there a need to do this with Symbian? If so, where do I do that?

Also, I have a few email accounts set up to check my pop mail. But I can't find out where to tell it to check every 15 minutes or whatever. Anyone know?

Thanks!
Aaron

welcome to the S60!

you can press the menu button for 1 or 2 sec (thats the button in the left of the joystick) and the running apps will be listed, you can then close anyone by pressing the [

for the first question, you simply press the menu button, and if you have any running programs then simply press delete or the "C" key... closing programs frees up memory so you can use memory intensive applications... but if you are the occasional user there is nothing wrong in keeping the calendar, contacts, calculator applications running for instant access...

Welcome!

friedbrains is right, but if you want to get into more detail, you might want to try out Tasky (free) or Best TaskMan to observe any running tasks, hidden or not.

For your email question, Messages>Options>Settings>E-Mail>Mailboxes>(your mailbox)>Automatic Retrieval>... From there it'll unleash a whole bunch of other options for you.
