Well, I talked to a family practice PA, and got sent home with a blood pressure reading of 200-soemthing over 100-something and a prescription for Amlodipine Besylate 10mg per day.
I went in all revved up like Rosie the Riveteer to firmly request brain scans for my memory loss. They put a meter on my revved up arm and found high blood pressure.
So the discussion got very confused. We ended up settling for some blood tests (results next week?) for dementia-mocking things like B-12 deficiency, and a possible negotiation on scans after that.
Couple of good marks for the PA. He dismissed my thought of 'false hypoglicemia' but said my problem of 'drowsiness after food' sounded like what the doctors call 'post-prandial fatigue', which he admitted he didn't know much about, but said I looked undernourished and guessed that the drowsiness after food kept me from eating enough of anything -- which was right on.
He also said I looked stressed from a personal situation which might be causing the memory problems. At least he seemed to be hinting at changing the personal situation rather than giving me psycho drugs.
