I have wanted to be an author all my life and believe Iv got what it takes. My head is constantly full of great ideas and i am always writing them down into stories (some stories taking over a year so i do have patience) I always plan out my stories first and when they are finally done i always feel down because only me and my family read them :( I would just like some help and advice on gettin these stories published (I know it doesnt just happen "overnight" and that it takes lots of work. But i just dont know how to get the right people reading my ideas. I need all the advice you can give please :D (I do do an awfull lot of reading, everyday without exagerating and i read a wide variety of genres. I am told I am good at writing stories and that my english is good because of how much i read. Pleaseeeeeeee help me PLZ .

maybe you should ask some friends to read or go the library and see who there would like to read. you could post your story online for others to read or maybe you could even ask a teacher to read.
maybe you could join some kind of club and share your stories there.
i'm sorry if i couldn't be of much help

I'm an author too, but just because you haven't published your stories doesn't mean you're an author.
Do check out major publishers websites like Puffin, Bloomsbury etc. they will give you all the details.
I wish you luck, i know you'll do it. But do remember you are an author from the moment you put a pen to paper. =]

First of all, reread your stories and edit, edit, EDIT! Even though it may seem great as you're writing it, when you go back to read it some sentences with grammatical errors may leave you feeling confused.

Let your family and friends read your books and tell them to be harsh. Give them a red pen and let them make notes on the plot events or places of confusion. While YOU may understand what's going on, the reader may not, which is a problem.

Finally, look into different publishing companies and see which ones you want to send your manuscripts to. Maybe choose publishing companies that published some of your favorite books. Write a good query letter(a letter sent to the editor explaining your experience and a brief description of the book) and you'll be set.

Best of luck to you! You can do it!
