Beck - Guero released today

Are there any beck fans on ot? I'm getting Guero when I get off work today. Beck has been putting out some good music lately - Gameboy Variations and E-pro were both great. He's always had a funky style but the new stuff seems happier.
 
i've heard e-pro on the radio a few times now, i'm not a big fan of it, he never changes the tone/pitch of his voice at all throughout the entire song.
 
I listened to all the 30 second previews on itunes, and it looks pretty good. I like the songs that are a bit of a return to Odelay-style greatness.
 
after listening to it, i think it's ok, maybe it'll take a while to grow on me

i like the gameboy variations remixes better than the album versions
 
It's okay. I wish it were more daring or weird or straight out funk like most of Midnite Vultures. It seems he's reached some limits as a songwriter, because a lot of the songs echo stuff he's done before.

It's not a terrible record. It's good for background music or driving music, but not many tunes have jumped out at me. I like hearing the old Beck sound though; clunky out of tune guitar, laid back beats, reminRAB me of the good old days. Still, I was hoping for a lot more.
