It isn't the speech, it's just that it's so Big Brotherish for a president to intrude in on a school day as he's doing, with the original intent of having the lesson be all about him and his big shiny ego.
 
The funny part is, had they NOT protested, they could have seen what was in the "original" speech and then they could have HAD him if the speech was indeed what they say it was going to be.

Instead all they have is "he changed the speech" with no proof of that whatsoever...and then "lesson plans" were always the problem (even though those WERE changed in response to concerns...but no credit is given for listening to people's concerns).

...creating an environment of fear? ...perhaps they would be kind enough to point out exactly where in Obama`s speech to the kids resides the, what was it they said, oh yes, the "brainwashing" and "indoctrination".

I am so embarrassed and ashamed for these bigoted, ignorant, narrow minded, Un-American people that got their knickers in a knot. Over the President telling the children that an education is important and their responsibility. They're just pissed because it is something they won't convince their children of.
 
They are playing politics with the education of children. Which is despicable.

Anyway, telling kids not to watch the president is only driving them to secretly watch the video links on Youtube.
