BBM and third party not working questin about plans???

i have a fully flashed blackberry 9630, talk, txt, sms, and mms work perfect but bbm and third party apps arent either, when i had the phone flashed they guy told me to get the $45 plan with wap not the $60 plan with bb, i dont mind at all paying the $60 (compared to my old verizon plan thats chump change) but would it make a difference if i switch my plan to the $60 plan or will it be the same with no bbm and third party apps. i looked into that wifix but my phone doesnt have wifi and what im reading you have to be in a wifi area to use it....pointless if you ask me you want to be mobile not stuck in a specific area thanx to anyone that can enlighten me on this

The way a blackberry works with a service provider is that they register your PIN to RIM and RIM provides you with BIS (blackberry internet service). This is what BBM and the BIS dependent apps use. The work around is the program you mentioned which can take traffic ment for one interface and forward it to another. In the case of cricket, you use this app to forward BIS over cricket's proxy although its real use is forwarding BIS over wifi so apps which do not normally work over wifi will work.

In a nutshell, more than likely Cricket will never submit the PIN of phones which they did not sell to RIM and so even on the $60 plan, your BBM, etc wont work.
