BB MESSENGER 4.2 tmo pearl

desperate

New member
alright yesterday i accidently deleted my bb messenger and i'm kicking myself in the rear now for it. I went to the blackberry site to download it again.....here is the hitch...the blackberry site only has version 1.0.94 and the version on the pearl is 4.2.0...the 1.0.94 doesn't show up on my pearl. It's in the applications list just isn't showing up on the icons. so i'm assuming its not compatible with the pearl. does anyone know where to download the 4.2?! TMO CS says there is no way to download it, i would have to re-install the newest OS to get it back and i was trying to avoid doing that. If anyone has a clue please share!!

peace out! and thanks in advance..

On your blackberry, Go to mobile.blackberry.com
Select downloads and you will have a link to install bb messenger.
Hope this helps!

i haven't tried the DM yet. i'm hoping i can just choose to reinstall the bb messenger. and going to mobile.blackberry.com it's giving me version 1.0.94 to download and apparently my pearl doesn't like that version. =( it only seemed to like version 4.2.0

the absolute last route to restore it would be to go to Tmobiles link for downloading the BB software, get the OS file, install it to the computer (if you don't already have it) then connect your BB and just RECHECK the BB Messenger.

also try this link: http://www.blackberry.com/messenger/

edit: nevermind that link is 1.0.94 also... just use the OS file and recheck it

How did you resolve this issue? I have the same problem and it irritates the heck out of me....I have Tmobile, which version OS did you download (if you did it that way)

Ya. If you read some of the posts above...you need to run your os thru app loader and make sure the box beside bbm is checked.

@cherrichiodo,

didn't work. i've checked around the various sites and this seems to be a common problem. apparently, the pearl doesn't recognize or support the version of bb messenger available for download on the internet.

I didn't tell you to download the bbm off of the internet. I told you to reload your os thru app loader/dm and make sure the bbm box is checked to install it.

Hello,

I currently own a Blackberry 8800 for my business. Recently I accidentally deleted the application Blackberry Messenger v4.2 like the good folks above have. I am trying to read and understand the directions posted above about how to fix this because I have learned first-hand that downloading this application through the Blackberry HELP website does not work with my device's version 4.2 software. However, I have come up empty handed. It is very important for me that I get this application up and working again as it is a quick and easy way to communicate with my co-workers.

Here is where I am so far: I have downloaded, installed, and successfully connected my Blackberry 8800 device to my computer's Desktop Manager (version 4.2), however I am unable to "reload the os through the application loader" as the directions in the post(s) above me suggest. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?? How do I re-install the Blackberry Messenger v4.2 application onto my device??

Help ASAP would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!!

Regards,

A concerned Blackberry user
