Searched and found almost too much info lol, there were threads that were 60 pages long, think it confused me more. I own part of a Real Estate Finance office and looking at a new phone. I've had some basic Samsung phone for the last 2 years that's like the Superman man of phones, we have a salt water pool of which it's been dropped in twice by accident and still works perfectly, dropped out of the truck forgetting it was on my lap, thing has taken a beating yet never stopped working.

However I'm in need of a phone that has good internet browsing, able to receive faxes etc (if I'm out so I can view them and then foward to lenders or clients etc), edit files (if not I read there are hacks or programs to buy that you can download correct?), email, personal use etc.

We're on a family plan with Cingular, they told me the 8800 and Pearl were available as upgrades, I totally forgot to ask about the others. So I hope the Blackjack or Treo 750 could be added?

I'm actually leaning towards the Blackjack, I know about short battery life etc. Only thing that worries me is people mentioning their loosing emails after looking at them, that's the last thing I need in my business. Friend has one and loves it, had a Treo as well and loved that.

I'm really stuck? I was going to go to the store tomorrow, are there any updates or new version comming out I should be aware of like Windows Mobile 6 etc.?

If you need to edit Word and Excel files, the BlackJack or Pearl will not do it. You need a Pocket PC, such as the 8525. You can buy a program for the Blackjack for about $200 that will allow you to edit, but I do not know how good it is. I don't know of such a program for the BB however.

Cannot comment on the ability to receive a fax. I highly doubt that any can, unless it is sent as a PDF. Keep in mind, witht he small screen it is tough to view any type of attachment.

I cannot recommend the Treo, I had 4 and they were all junque. Some say the newer models are better but I am still gun shy.

I had a Blackjack for a month or so. Not a bad phone/PDA. Battery life wasn't the best since I am in a 3G fringe area, it kept searching for 3G, hence used more power. Once I turned 3G off it was OK. I think they ship with an extended battery now though. You can always keep a car charger handy too.

I went back to my BB because it is bullet proof.

What I meant by faxes is something like efax etc, friend has it for his Treo, guess I'll have to see if it works for other phones. In my biz, I could be out and missing important faxes of which I could now just view quickly or foward the attachment on to whomever.

What I'm really liking though of the others over the BB models, is the number of cheats/hacks, downloads for 3rd party apps etc that you can do on them.

That 8525 looks cool though (both in looks and performance), I'll have to look into that as well.

Just remember that all those cheats and hacks and apps wil use more memory and probably will make WM5 even less stable. If you need something that will be working when you need it, then the BB is the one.

I have always found that sticking with the basics makes these handhelds work so much better. Probably why i like the BB so much. It works!
