Hey guys,
I've had a bb for a min. now and well it first started as a regular tmo plan but i switched it up to prepaid. now here's my problem My browser doesn't work i have to use opra mini to search the web but i can't also use any of my messenger options such as aol msn icq and yahoo. Tmo said that i don't get that option aslong as i have prepaid but i'm sure there's a way to by pass that. If anyone can help let me know. thanx Al

Yeah it's 19.99 a month and a BB CAN'T be use on any prepaid account since to access all of the feature on the BB you'll need a data plan ehich is available only on post paid account

If you use a BB as pre paid the data will not work. It must be on a contract plan in order to use the BB data add on. The only phone that will give you data on prepaid, is the Sidekick.

Another option is to get the Blackberry Minutes and mail plans. There is a $59.99 that gives you unlimited data & SMS and 1000 whenever minutes. Thats a good deal if you don't use too many minutes per month. They also have one with 1500 minutes for $79.99

yeap no prepaid blackberrys yet tmobile was talkin about prepaid blackberry like prepaid sk but i dont think it will happen for a long time

it will work. Just call tmo and ask to active the sidekick data plan and they will do it. They will ask for the IMEI number of a sidekick 2 or 3. Ask a friend or sumthing so you can use their IMEI # and tell them that. You will be able to used data wif that sim card

I have a bb in that situation too. Can u seriously call and just give them a sidekick imei, will they ask for anything else. like to actually get a message or do something with the phone that will make sure u have a sidekick. thanks

I am in this same situation right now. Here's my problem.

I want to keep my Pearl but I just found out (within the last 2 weeks) that my current field of study and future employment will require me to carry my SK2, due to relay services available to the Deaf/Hard of Hearing community that are only compatible with SK's. I want to be a sign language interpreter.

I would love to be able to continue to send/receive PIN messages (on BB Messenger and chat on Google Talk whenever it stays connected LOL) but I don't see myself being able to afford 2 data plans right now until I begin working

Do I switch the Pearl to a prepaid account and lose access to BB Messenger and Google Talk Messenger (Yahoo Messenger is downloadable from the catalog on the SK2), or do I add a second line for the SK2 and be prepared to shell out over $100 per month for 2 lines?

If you swich it to a pre paid, then you will lose your data plan. But if you take your sidekick and its imei and call tmobile and tell them you want to get the sidekick prepaid plan, then put your bb sim card in your sidekick, then get than activated, then put it in ur bb. Now on a sidekick pre paid plan. Then for $1 a day you get unlimited data, txt, and emails. But minutes are 15 cents each. I haven't done this, but i want to know if somebody has done this sucessfully. Anybody?

EricaJ1073, What are the relay services on the SK3 that aren't available using the BlackBerry? I'm just curious. If it really is necessary for employment, then they should cover the cost of the additional data plan.

Just my $0.02 worth.

Rcbjr.

The problem is, I called tmobile, cause i want the sidekick plan. They told me, if you put your sim card in any other phone, you WILL be charged for txt, and you will not get unlimited internet. And you will be charged $1 a day whether you use it or not. Once again, i hate tmobile.
