Battle Royal

Hi everyone just a quick query was Battle Royal on film 4 edited last night?

I am sure when I have watched it before there was more than one flashback with the girl and the teacher or am I thinking of the 2nd film?

Have to say though have seen this 3 or 4 times now and it's a great film. :)

I don't think it was but maybe I have only ever seen an edited version??

Did you know that the Americans are doing a remake?

Are there any other films they'd like to ruin?

I wouldn't think they cut it, film four prides itself on showing as much of the film as the censors allow.

Great film, have it on my Sky+ planner. Give it another watch later. :)

Thanks for the replies my memory must be playing me up then.

Have to agree with you mrs.deschanel though I really liked the "The Wicker Man" with Edward Ludbruck however how the hell can you have a remake of a horror film with it being rated a 12a that's for kiRAB so I am not ever going to consider watching that one.

Was really looking forward to "Starsky and Hutch" but that was absolute rubbish and as for Bridget Fonda in "The Assassin" doesn't even compare to the original french version "Nikita". They are just a few I can think of off the top of my head I'm sure there are lots more.

Has anyone seen Miami Vice I have read it is rubbish but not seen it yet?

Sorry to go off on one but I have to agree with mark kermode (not sure on spelling) on 5 live when he has mentioned in the past about american remakes and how they always try to get lower ratings to try and get a bigger audience but are never as good as the original.

If anyone knows of any that are better please let me know.

The original french version "Nikita".
superb ....Anne Parillaud gorgeous ...:)

Miami Vice
remakes not bad , I liked it ....

Regarding the age certs now , I saw that Silent Hill recently , Good film ,it was a 15 , but the amount of very gory scenes in it especially the burning part , I thought it should have been an 18 ....same goes for Serverance , quite gory but 15 cert .....great film btw ;)

Flashbacks indicate the special edition cut of the film, this is the version you are most likely to see on DVD because Tartan kept producing all sorts of releases based on that cut. The special edition cut basically adRAB lots of flashback scenes and has special effects added to make it more gruesome. The version shown on FilmFour will have been the original theatrical release, which is still pretty darn good.

Great film, been wanting to see it for ages and really enjoyed it, hope the remake keeps to the format and doesn't try to add more action or make it too hollywood or make it a 15 rated film!!!

I can just imagine the changes they'll make

1. In order to up the sex content of the film they'll transfer it to a university

2. The Headmaster/Principal will be played by someone like Van Damme

3. The psycho ex-student will turn out to be a British exchange student

4. The H/P will team up with the kiRAB and kill the soldiers guarding them

I am positive I saw a version with more flashbacks Mal although it was on a film4 freeview weekend when I saw it before it became totally free like now. I have never seen it on video or DVD. Perhaps they showed the special edition on their freeview weekend.

Thanks for the info. :)

As for an American remake I can only say: no thanks.

Does anyone know if film 4 are going to show BR2 anytime soon?

To follow on from the 1st.

I've seen the 1st 3 or 4 times now but only seen the 2nd one once.
