Ok, so I've had the Captivate for about 4 days now, and I keep having to charge it after about 5 hours. My battery usage says:
Display- 74% 3hr 49m
Voice Calls- 10% 7m
Cell Standby- 6% 7h 17m
Android System- 3% 24m
Browser- 3% 22m
Idle- 3h 28m
Does this look right? I've looked at other peoples battery usage and not one of them had their display as more than 45%. Also, I'm concerned that 7 minutes of voice calls wasted 10% of the battery....
I don't really have anything running in the background. I have Gmail updating once an hour, buzzbox once every 2 hours, and that's it. I also have ATK killing apps safely every time the screens shuts off. The screen brightness is only set to about 25%, I'm not running a live wallpaper, and I haven't had wifi or bluetooth on at all.
Even if this is the way it should be, it is definitely not long enough. I end up having to take my charger everywhere because I'm afraid the phone will die and I won't have it.
Should I try to return it for a replacement Captivate? Will they do that? Or should I have them send me a replacement battery... I'm not really sure what to do since this is the first phone I've suspected of not working correctly.
I also read something about a restocking fee?
I already have the brightness at 25%. That's as low as I will go. What's the point of having a nice screen like that and putting the brightness all the way down? And the screen is on 30 sec. auto shut-off and I a lot of times just shut it off myself. Also, I want to know if there is something wrong with the phone, because I'm not really 100% sure.
Also, I bought it on the phone, can I just take it back to the nearest AT&T store?
