Battery Died and Car Remote won't work now, how can I fix?

Well this happened a while ago, but my car battery had died completely, the car is running fine now, but since then my car remote doesn't unlock the power locks and start the automatic starter. I don't have a manual for the automatic starter. The remote has a button that says "PROG". Is there a way I can reset it? I've tried holding it down, but it didn't work. Or am I going to have to take it in?
 
Take it to an alarm installer or the car dealership and then buy a manual for your vehicle.
