maybe not in the next one, but i really hope we get MANBAT in the mix, and have ms quinn as a resident doctor in arkham studying a ever increasingly (and non heath ledger obviously ..... unless he's cgi) joker .....

and based on the killing joke too!!!

On a side note....

Iv just spent the last 2 hours reading the script for The Dark Knight, I could recommend it to anyone, Iv seen the film twice yet was totally mesmerized by the script and couldn't stop reading. In a film like this with so much detail going on in 2 and a half hours it was nice to read the script and understand it even better.

I was also keen to see what was cut from the movie, hardly anything is. Theres a couple of parts that dont make it to the film but generally the film is exactly as intended in the script. I noticed Heath Ledger must have ad-libbed and/or altered quite a few of his lines as the Joker, makes you appreciate more what Heath did.

Anyway here is the link if anyone is interested

I think theres should be a place for us all to discuss the inevitable sequel to the dark knight, Ok, i know it hasnt even been announced yet but it would be crazy not to do another one.

Anyway this is the place to discuss news/thoughts/ideas/the two previous films or anything.

However no discussion is allowed on Eddie Murphy and Shia LeBeouf having joined the cast:D

Nolan, Bale, Caine, Oldman and Freeman - get the same all-star cast back.

Don't know about bad guys. Who would fit Nolan's world? Penguin, with exploding penguins and a gadget-ridden cane.

It is an interesting idea because it would suggest the Joker created the Riddler. Similarly before TDK came out there was a line of thinking that the Scarecrow created the Joker.

The end of BB certainly implied that the Joker was one of the Arkham inmates that was set loose. Fans suspected that it was the Scarecrow's fear toxin that turned the Joker crazy.

However, there is no hint of that in TDK, as the Joker seems to have sprung from nowhere with no identity, no background, nothing to identify him as there would be had he been an Arkham inmate.

So I guess for now, anything is possible.

If that became a fact in the third film, I feel it would seriously undermine The Joker as a character. I enjoyed the idea of him being his own boss, playing by his own rules. If he had a superior, I get the impression he would have killed him a long time before this story arc begins in Nolan's movies.

The idea wasn't mine. We have to thank hero2zero for that one. I hijacked it, because it would fit well in the context of the storyline, as the Bank Manager was not given a name, and was played by a decent and relatively famous actor.

You're right about him not having been an inmate at Arkham. They would have had more information on him had that been the case.

Their were rumors they were working on it the plans for it,Don't know if it will go ahead it had something to do with the Riddler and Spellblinder being the villians.

I would like to see the next Batman movie with Black Mask being the villian.

I heard a rumour that the next one was going to have phillipe setmour hoffman (penguin) and Anjelina Jolie (catwoman) in it. I think Jolie would make a spot on catwoman as she's psychotic in real life. im also a little confused when was Halle Berry Catwoman? i thought it was Michelle Phieffer. :S
I also think Two Face isn't dead either, as you never actually saw him die and i think it would make a good twist if that was just an introduction to him, which would start the 3rd film off quite well.....amkind or get ready for the unexpected to happen!

FunkyColdModena What Villian could Johnny Depp Play?

maybe we could see our first cross genre mix.......Batman Vs Jack Sparrow.....if that works out well then it would pave the way for

Spiderman Vs Bambi and
The incredible Hulk Vs the moomins!

This ^ would make sense for another theory that I have...

Mayor Garcia, did anyone else also notice his eyes? Eyeliner and arched brows, kinda Penguinesque if you ask me...?
How come he was the only BIG stated target of the Joker that survived?
I think that the attempt on the Mayor's life was pretty lame by the Joker's usual high standarRAB? I believe it was a ploy to bring Batman out during the day time, to give the Mayor's boys (GCPD) a good shot on him at the window.
Also remember the scene when Garcia appoints Gordon as the Commissioner and the Joker starts clapping? Was he applauding Mayor Garcia or Gordon? hmmm.....

Sorry I'm getting a little carried away here, but the Joker's little taunt at Gordon when he tells him how alone he really is. Could it maybe tie in to the Mayor being his boss.

Unfortunately there will be no two-face in batman 3, as i was watching the dark knight and saw the transformation i thought two-face was being set up as the main story for the 3rd film, obviously that wont happen now.

At the end of the dark knight the joker says to batman "i have the feeling we will be doing this forever". I think clearly the idea was to bring the joker back at least partly for a 3rd film, obviously that will be unlikely now as i think a re-casting would cause uproar.

Having researched some of the villains from the comic book i think Black Mask would be a good one, the penguin will not happen as it does not fit in with Nolan's style. The riddler could work but it would have to be unlike anything we have seen before.

The first two films have had many little hints in them, obviously the way begins ended with the joker card told you a little bit about what would happen in the Dark Knight, early in the dark knight when talking about harvey dent, bruce wayne made some sort of reference to someone (or dent cant rememeber) being two-faced, a hint of what was to come. Thinking of this i think back to when Wayne goes to Lucius Fox requesting a new suit, he asks how it would hold up against dogs, he says something along the lines of it depenRAB on the dog, should be fine with cats though, maybe a nod to catwoman.

The other one obviously was the coleman reese character. Mr Reese (or Mysteries) possibly a link to the riddler or Coleman Reese becoming the riddler, I suppose only Chris Nolan knows.

I've heard that maybe the bank manager in the TDK could turn out to be a villain in Batman 3. He was pretty mental when he was going for the Joker and his boys in the prologue, shotgun at the ready. Also the Joker says to him before he reveals himself, "What doesn't kill you only makes you stranger".
He was shot in the leg and a fake grenade which had green smoke in it was put into his mouth. A clue to the riddler maybe? Also an excellent actor like William Fichtner is surely better than a couple minutes of screen time...?

Are you referring to Sarah Jayne Dunn's 2-second cameo as Salvatore Maroni's moll? Wasn't all the talk of Dunn playing Harley Quinn just a PR stunt to promote the Hollyoaks actress in the US?
