Basketball players in the U.S?

I come from another country . I can play basketball i played highschool this year. I just want to know why some players hate on each other so much? Where i come from people just play with peace but with competiveness , but at the same time try to help each other out on their game....
Here people try to put you down , for what reason ?
Where all doing the same thing
They try to prove that they are better than you
