basketball getting in shape?

plan on running about two and a half miles a day, four days a week. im doing this to get in shape for basketball how long will it take me if i do this for me to get in good enough shape for basketball. also, 5'8 140 will i lose any weight.

im not going to be playing and pick up games for about a good two weeks will these help get better when im not playing.
200 jumpshots
100 layups
1hr handles
vertical leap training

for working out im going to be doing
150 pushups
150 crunches
1min jumprope 3x

will all of this make me improve by how much on a scale from 1-10
 
basketball season for me starts in 3 weeks. And from the looks of it those workouts with pushups and crunches isnt gonna help u build strength or get stronger. I say hit up da gym with your team mates and do some squats, dead lifts, benches, good mornings, etc.
