Hello,

These are symptoms I've had for about a year now:

Off-balnce/unwound feeling (imagine an unwound sewing spindle), fatigue, lack of energy, general weakness, roller coaster digestive symptoms (abdominal pain, rectal spasms, gas-top & bottom all day long, bloating, some soft stools, anxiety.

I was on Remeron since the first week of Septeraber and dropped it because my Liver Function tests came back high. I was also taking a whole bunch of supplements at the time and don't know what caused the high nurabers so I dropped every pill.

I am 25 year old male, 5'10, 145 lbs, I have delayed Gastric Emptying (as seen on a Gastric Emptying Study) and struggle to NOT lose weight, I actually want to gain weight.

Differing doctors have mentioned 2 pills to me and I'm wondering which one sounRAB best based on my symptoms: Lexapro or Pristiq?

I would probably stay away from Pristiq. It has a very short half life. (it is basically Effexor under a new name) It is a very hard antidepressant to stop, due to its short half life and its two biggest side effects are stomach upset and loss of appetite.

I took lexapro for some time and did ok. If pristiq is like effexor I did very badly, made me a wreck. I take celexa know works great.

I would talk to your doctor about it. I'm not sure that any of us can tell you which one would be best. I had a terrible time when I was on Wellbutirin. It gave me awful anxiety attacks and I had no appetite. I also had really bad side effects from Cyrabalta. It would make my pupils huge and I got weird vision changes along with anxiety. The best I felt was when I was on Zoloft, but it HAD to be brand specific!! I do not recommend taking ANY antidepressant/antianxiety that is generic. I just read an article in Health magazine on how bad it is for your body. Good luck :-)
