Barry Lyndon

Very much looking forward to watching Stanley Kubrick's Barry Lyndon on BBC4 tomorrow evening. Caught part of it some years ago and was highly impressed. The cinematography is brilliant. Many of the indoor scenes are shot using very fast lenses and lit solely by candel light.

Well worth watching for many reasons.

A fine, slow-paced and truly beautiful film. Perhaps it also demonstrates better than most films our idea of the 18th Century. The music is superb too, evoking the right mood.
