Barefoot Contessa

When BC first came on, I wondered out loud (here) why that
name sounded so familiar. Someone nicely pointed out that it
was an Ava Gardner movie, and they didn't even call me dummy.
Heh. Never saw it.

Well, Paula Deen is a native, but she just doesn't have a very nice
accent or drawl. And when she's "acting" on her show she just lays it on
a bit too thick to be honest.

LOL, I've thought the same thing.
Why some women insist on putting multiple rings on sausage like fingers
is weird to me. It makes their hands look so fat and inelegant.

My loss - it looks like a good channel.

The Canadian Food Network has really gone down hill. Every time I look at
it, there's this rough guy with bleached highlights visiting burger joints
or it's interminable restaurant makeovers and Iron Chef.
The Women's network hosts a show where two, gorgeous young women test the
recipes from a cookbook and then rate it. The trouble is, they are not much
good at cooking, but I wouldn't mind a date with either of them.......{:-)

I found it when broadcast went digital and we got a converter for the
cottage and it was a sub channel. It was coming from Madison
Wisconsin which was about 50 miles away. It's a good channel like
most other PBS channels.

I thought so, too. I only saw the one show, but the recipes looked
good, accessible, something I would want to make, they were likable, and
they seemed to like each other.

I've watched it all the way through several times. I think it's more because

it was for any accidental culinary value.
