Damn Obama! Too agressive on BP. Stop picking on those poor British pensioners!

It wouldn't be such a big burden on either American or British pensioners if the damned environmental groups would only foot the bill for this. It is pretty shitty that I have to suffer because they won't man up and take responsibility.

Yea....why aren't they having aid concerts and telethons? I mean they did it for Haiti.

Someone needs to alleviate the burden on BP.

I know, right?

It was the environmental groups who owned and operated the wells. The environmental groups who are responsible.

Welcome to the world of if your company fucks up, profits will be lost.

cleaning the environment asap and saving animals is more important than waiting around because its someone elses problem.

/sarcasm

That's the argument some people are making. Not that BP should be hiring environmental groups to help clean up, but that the environmental groups are pieces of shit for not doing more than they are on their own dime.

like what, trying to solidify your base?
Trying to pass cap n trade?
Trying not to piss off your union backers?

yep, depends on priorities.

Maybe waiting around is a deterrent to others to create the same problem, and once they see the cost to BP they will be swayed. Thereby persauding other companies not to make the same mistake...so they don't end up owing tens of billiions of dollars.

You know...sort of like how laws are supposed to work in the U.S.

Harsh punishment = fuck that I don't want to owe tens of billions of dollars. Pay the $120,000 for the CBL from Schlumberger and take the 10 hours to install more centralizers. That's a minor cost compared to having a leaking well.

Just saying.

Government only cares about the pension funds of US companies and their US employes not british companies and their US employees

The greater the economic and environmental destruction the better as it will serve as a greater deterrent to other companies. My hope is the entire gulf region becomes uninhabital and BP goes under. this spill would be responsible for the prevention of any and all future environmental catastrophies!

We could hope....

But the Dims will go over the top and ban all New Drilling and exploration, no matter where it is....forcing us all into Jetson style transportation
