I moved to TX May 1st from CA. While in CA I lost my job and consequently my debt has grown astronomically. I am still unemployed looking for work. However, I would like to file for bankruptcy because there is no way I can catch up at this point. I am currently 40 thousand in debt. That's including back child support of 10K. I know I can't discharge child support. So my question is this.
When can I file for BK in TX considering I only been here about two months? All of May and all of June.
PS...there is a nasty divorce still going on after three years. So I still owe my attorney 5 thousand on top of that.
