An HSBC banker hanged himself in a 5-star hotel room in West London, [I]The Times[/I] reports.
Christen Schnor was the head of insurance for Europe's biggest bank, responsible for Britain and the Middle East, and made a comfortable living. He was staying at a pricey suite in the Jumeirah Carlton Tower hotel in Knightsbridge while his apartment was renovated. A hotel worker found Schnor naked and hanging by a belt in the closet.
Police discovered a note, but haven't released details.
Last week it was reported that HSBC has $1 billion "at risk" due to the collapse of the Bernie Madoff reverse-Ponzi scheme, with additional clients invested with Madoff.
