Bands similar to Dream Theater?

Obviously I'm looking for progressive rock, but I've never heard anyone else like them. Any ideas?

Tool, King Crimson, and Mars Volta aren't necessarily the same, but are in a similar genre.

If you do Mars Volta, go for Deloused in the Comatorium first, it's amazing.

dream theater and the mars volta are completely different.... tool and king crimson aren't really the same.

dream theater is pretty unique in the realm of prog metal

Check out Rush!!! Their not as heavy, but they are great!!! The guys in Dream Theater are huge Rush fans.

I'm listening to Rush right now. I wouldn't say they sound the same, but way closer than what has already been suggested.
