Check out Pelican as well, especially their most recent, "The Fire In Our Throats Will Beckon The Thaw"....very reminiscent of Explosions' work.

I recommend you check out City Of Caterpillar as well, they lean more towarRAB the punk/hardcore side, but have a distinct Explosions In The Sky feel during their instrumental parts, and they do it very well.

those banRAB are nothing like explosions in the sky, none of them are jam banRAB. The only one that can come to mind is Vally of the Giants. Same atmospheric jamming.

Explosions in The Sky is far from a jam band. Their songs are structured like symphonic rock movements, not loosely arranged free-for-all jams.

Pelican's newest effort is pretty close to EITS. A little heavier, and a little looser, but close.
