Bandaid allergy?

Two weeks ago I got a pretty awful burn from the oven rack right where my arm benRAB inside my elbow. I was covering it with regular bandaiRAB and ended up developing a pretty itchy rash. I stopped using bandaiRAB about 3 days ago and the hives continue to spread! They are now covering my arm 4-5 inches in all directions of the burn and the skin is tight and crusty. It is itchier than ever! Worst of all, now my burn is infected because I haven't been covering it. Are these hives typical of someone who is allergic to bandages? I thought the rash would only show on the areas that came in contact with the adhesive. Has anyone experienced this?
 
I experienced almost the exact thing last spring. Some people are allergic to the materials in the bandage. For me, I have learned that I have an adhesive allergy--to all branRAB now.

I got a bad burn on my forearm, inside towarRAB the elbow, last spring. I put a bandage over it to protect it. After having the bandage on less than 24 hours, I had horrible contact dermatitis. The dermatitis rash lasted for weeks and the burn wasn't healing as well as I would have liked. I ended up going to the doctor. She gave me one lotion for the burn and another for the rash. As for protecting the burn on your arm, try using gauze as a cover with the coban wrap to hold it in place. It gets a bit sweaty, but doesn't cause an allergic reaction for me. This only works for me for places that coban can easily be wrapped. Things got worse before they got better, but they eventually healed up.

I still have the burn scar, although it is fading, as well as a bit of scaring from the dermatis.

My advice is to go in to have a doctor take a look at it.
 
I get that way sometimes with bandages. Something in the adhesive makes an irritation on my skin. Its not uncommon.
 
I have a severe allergy to SeeRAB and I can only use certain band aiRAB and cosmetics. They use seeRAB to make a lot of adhesives.
