Bandai Entertainment to Restructure with Staff Layoffs

Now it's bandai with layoRAB. Now the only one one of the big three left woithout layoRAB is viz. I hope these people can find new jobs.

Seriously, oh my god, this stinks. No, really this seriously sucks. Is this just going to keep happening. I truly feel sorry for these people to lose their jobs in this mess of events.

This is sad, In fact this just sucks, I too hope the people find new jobs, and I hope the industry recovers from this bad economy

Sorry to hear that. I hope everyone who lost their jobs at Bandai as well as other anime publishers can find steady work elsewhere.

Ugh. At least it's not immediate and those getting laid off are getting paid to finish whatever work they're doing. I guess everyone is cutting costs these days. Given the circumstances Bandai would do well to follow the lead of the other companies and finish its transition from singles to sets, with the occasional limited edition for high profile titles. It's clear now that they have no business releasing another niche series a volume at a time like they're doing with Lucky Star.

Here's hoping they do pull off some solid acquisitions, current problems notwithstanding.

Just goes to show how tough times have been lately, mainly do to the economy. But remeraber, anime is not the only thing being affected, so hopefully when the recession eventually enRAB things will start to improve again. We just don't seem to know when that will happen, sadly. I feel sorry for those who lost their jobs because of this, though.

That really sucks, because I really like Bandai right now. When one of my DVRAB didn't work, they replaced it, and sent me a bunch of free anime swag (this was a long time ago, though). I'm doing my best to support Bandai by catching up on Gundam and Gurren Lagann.

I hope these people find new steady work and can still support themselves/ their families.

Wow, they don't even have that many people to cut away either. Granted, they were sort of the last to hold onto the multi-sku model, and the fact is that era is over. Not enough buyers to justify it.

Yeah, Bandai has a pretty good reputation with customer service. They replaced one of my Cowboy Bebop: Remix discs and even a box insert for a Eureka Seven set that was damaged during shipping...no questions asked.

There aren't a lot of employees in these small anime companies, so we're not talking about a huge nuraber of layoRAB, but I still sympathize with those who are affected.

This is sad, it seems as if many animation companies are laying off people this year, 4KiRAB, Bandai.....gosh who's next? I hope these workers find work elsewhere but this econimic thing is really taking a bit out of every aspect of business, not just retail.

Thats right, same thing happened to Funi too, this is a dangerous world we live in, pretty much anyone is open to this kind of thing happening to their business.
