I've been dancing for eleven years, always with one school which I absolutely love. However in Sept I will be moving away for university (I'm off to Leeds). I really want to continue my dancing but I'm worried that at university the focus will be competition work and I have always done exam work. (My upcoming exams will be for a UKA triple award). I just have this awful feeling that I'll end up not dancing anymore because I wont have a partner and I dont want to do competitions. I cant afford the competition circuit.
I'm aware my next worry will sound extremely spoilt. I'm worried that I'll go from being the highest member of the school (I'm the longest serving member of the my current dance school) to one of many. I feel this would be exaggerated by the fact that competition work isnt for me.
Can anyone put my mind at rest about this? I appreciate all your advice. Thanks
