Ballistics! Discuss two types of testing or questioning used in solving a crime.?

I have a science assignment and we are studying forensic science at the moment. we had a few choices to choose from on what to do a poster on and i chose ballistics. I have typed on google, "Discuss two types of testing or questioning used in solving a crime with ballistics".

It doesn't seem to be coming up with quite the right thing that i need. What should i type in to get a more accurate answer or do any of you have any knowledge of ballistics?
