My ballet studio is not a competitive studio becasue they really like to focus on technique. My friend and i are both considered the same level and are always partners... our ballets are double casted and we always have the same parts. however i was at the studio for 11 years and she has been there for 3 years. before coming to this studio she used to go to a competitive studio that specialized in tricks. becuase of that she is a great jumper and has a higher extention. but her technique isnt that strong. so my question is... what is better.... to be like me : have a strong technique but not great at tricks ( i can do triple pirouettes, but my grand jetes arent as high as i would like) or to be like her (she can jump really high but she has a weaker technique). what is better when auditioning for a summer intensive? who will have a better ballet future? we both want to be proffessionals. in my opinion i would say it is better to have a strong technique because u can always work on jumping higher but idk.. whats ur opinion and do u have and tips for jumping? Thank you so much... any advice is greatly appreciated.
