i took an antibiotic containing Tinidazole and have had a reaction on my face. i am overseas and can not get to a doctor easily. it started with one tiny itchy scab on my face and has spread to look like bad acne. it is very itchy and embarrassing. i also had a swollen eye socket this morning. i took the antibiotics 5 days ago.
what can i do to clear it ASAP! ive tried face wash, a natural cream containing horse manure (gross i know)
thanks

Go to the drug store and get some Benadyl. This can cause drowiness so do not drive after you take it.
Are you sure that you were not bit by some type of bug?
Let me know how you are doing.

i thought at first it was a bug bite cuz i was in tokyo and rome so i thought it could have been that, but when i searched symptoms from the antibiotic i took it said some side effects include rashes, face swelling itching burning etc im guessing it was that. I am very embarressed and need something urgently. I must try and find a doctor? i will try that though too thank you

hi in the past I have hidden some red marks on the face just a bit better anyway by rubbing in some zinc oxide very gently, then wiping off the excess so it merely lightens any redness.

I personally am not a big fan of Antibiotics - they, in the long term, do more hard than good... simply because they aren't just fighting the viruses you have, they're also fighting your very own immune system which becomes weaker over time as a result.

But spots are simply mutations so I personally think you have it right when you mention it being a "reaction" ... because you're immune system weakens hence other viruses and such will be able to attack...

Have you consider antiseptic and skin condition cream together? I use E-45 to clean out the pours in my skin and (for me, anyway) the spots fade away naturally - I also apply antiseptic cream to avoid spreading and cause further infections...

It may be a coincidence, too - for example, you've cut yourself or been bitten and has gone septic and spread.

Either way, I'd advise you see a doctor or pharmacist and see what they say. I thought I would add that all the information above is my personal opinion, of course! :)

I wish you all the best,
Brownie.
