So I am off to college now but i really need a car since I am going to be an EMT and need to commute into the city near my university to get to the ER. I had a car for high school but my parents dont want me to take it to college and it has recently developed a TON of problems. we spent $6000 on the car and now we are going to be spending over half of that to get it working again. I have saved up some money from working as a lifeguard but i do not have faith in buying a used car again cause of this experience. (i have heard the horror stories) I dont even want to buy a "reliable" used toyota or whatever. I just want the facts. Would it be possible for a student working approximately 40 hours a week be able to get a car loan on a, say $30000 car (probably will cost less)? Thanks so much in advance. Please dont just tell me how stupid i am for wanting to do this I want to know the truth and the facts. you could interject your opinion in there somewhere if its mixed in..
