Bad films improved by one good performance

Well a lot of comedy films either live or die by how good the star is. Look at Ace Ventura, the film itself isn't that special (the plot is actually pretty dumb if you think about it) but because Jim Carrey owns the entire movie it makes it great.

And you can always rely on Johnny Depp to save a mediocre movie from the doldrums.
 
Renee Zelwegger in Cold Mountain. Sheesh, that was an awful film - definitive proof that the Oscars mean nothing anymore (if they ever did...)
