Bad disk, sore neck & back?

I'm new here...
I have a severe Degenerative disk. Been seeing a chiropractor for 4 months & not much improvement at all... didn't go to my last appt... I have an appt Tuesday with a Specialist...
Anyhow, my disk pain is in my lower back. The last week or 2 I've noticed the rest of my back & neck is sore. Like tention sore... But lately my neck has been really sore at times. Seems to come and go. My head feels heavy but my shoulders are tense & sore alittle also...
Just curious if this is just tension from my lower back pain... I feel like I have been shoveling rocks all day lol
I know it could be worst... I just don't know much about what's going on. I hurt my back 5 yrs ago & recently got worst.
 
Hopefully the specialist you are seeing is an Orthopedic Spine Surgeon or Neurosurgeon. They don't only do surgery but can provide you other treatment options and can let you know if chiropractic care is something you should consider. Have you had a recent MRI and do you have the findings?
 
I had an xray & that's it... It was by my Chiropracter I've been seeing for 4 months... Just isn't improving...I hope to get an MRI done... I heard it would be the best idea... My husband wants me to go through surgery if offered but I don't want to. I'm trying to avoid that as much as possible... He seems to think I'll be good as new... Yet it looks like that doesn't usually happy or come close...

I feel silly... I don't know much about any of this... Just that I hurt my back at work almost 5 yrs ago & never been the same. My pregnancy last year seemed to make it allot worst...
