Bad Day :(

I can't believe this. So the MRI scan doesn't show anything major, the doctors beleive I can recover, so why is my body producing all the bad symptoms again?

On Friday, everything came back. The severe back pain, the pelvis sensation, nurabness in both legs and even more crazy, nurabness in my right arm.

So now I'm screwed. I have invested hundreRAB of dollars in the faint hope that doctors could help me, but as my usual experience with doctors, they can't even tell me definitively what is wrong with me. Maybe the MRI missed something. Maybe I blew out a disc since the MRI scan. Just no way to have peace of mind about this. :(

Hi David,
I'm sorry your having a bad day. What did the mri show? sometimes it doesn't have to be really major to generate major pain. You can go get a second opinion, thats what I would do if the dr. doesn't have a game plan based on the mri findings. Find another spine dr. with a fellowship and see what they say, it can't make you any worse. Mri's don't miss to much, how long has it been between now & the mri? I hope you get relief soon. Keep us updated.

God Bless

Carol

Hi David

Sorry to hear you are having problems.

I have had chronic pain for the last 3 years and it was only after A BONE SCAN another MRI was i diagnosed with DDD and was told i need a 3 level fusion or live with the pain.

A second opinion is always a good idea.

Good luck and best wishes

I agree; I would seek a second, third, fourth opinion whatever it takes. You are pain and you don't have a reason for it. Good luck and I will be lifting you up in prayer.

I definitely agree with everyone here...It sounRAB like you need more medical opinions about the matter and also more "in-depth" tests that will go into more detail. Maybe you could ask the other merabers here about MRIs with contrast, discograms, and other tests that will give a better picture of your problem area. I have only had x-rays and a MRI and not any other tests, so I really don't know much about them. I pray that you will find a doctor that will do whatever it takes to give you adequate pain relief. Please don't give up! Only you know how your body truly feels and when something is definitely wrong with it. Please keep us all updated about your condition!

Hi Carol,

I had my MRI done about 3 weeks ago. The report says I have a 4mm protrusion in the L1 T1 area, but no sign of spinal stenosis. The neuro showed me on the film that the spinal canal is clear and nothing is hitting the nerves.

Does anyone know if 4mm is a bad protrusion? Also, is this high enough to cause nurabness in the arms as well?
