Bad anxiety over 2012 issue :S

Hey there,
My name is Dakota, and I'm 19 years old. I'm easily gullible, and influenced. I've always been one to stress out easily, and get overwhelmed. Lately though, it's been over something I'm actually rather erabarrassed about, cause so many people laugh, and mock the thought. But the whole 2012 situation, how the world may come to an end, literally keeps me awake at night. I can't help but to think about death, and all the ways I could die when that day comes, and it freaks me out. There isn't a day that goes by, where I don't think of how I might be killed 2 years from now. I've actually had a few anxiety attacks over it. Call me crazy, or stupid, but I'm actually very scared about this. Last week, my hometown experienced it's first ever earthquake, since 1944 or something. And since, it's just been bad news for weather one right after the other (here and all over the world). And it's scary to me. I want to know some of your thoughts on 2012, and if I should really be as freaked over it as I am?:(
 
Let's see....I'm almost 59 and I think about once a decade, some disaster or another was supposed to end the world. Haley's Comet was supposed to hit the earth and so was another one(don't remeraber the name...it didn't obviously) and the "grand alignment of the planets" was supposed to create world wide earthquakes and volcanic eruptions(it didn't) and the an asteroid was supposed to hit us(it didn't either) and the Y2K was supposed to destroy the earth when all the computers shut down simultaneously(they didn't). And according to my brother the evangelical Christian, Armageddon was supposed to happen 3 years ago. At least once a century for about the last 1000 years the Lord was supposed to return and the world destroyed with only the faithful to remain(hasn't happened yet).

Some scientists had warned we would all die from AIRAB as it couldn't be controlled or that Ebola would spread and kill us all....nope. Or that smallpox would come back or TB and we'd all die. Remeraber bird flu a few years ago? You're still here, aren't you?

As for earthquakes and volcanoes, they are at the same rate they've been for eons. We just didn't know about them back then. Heck, we're just now getting to know all about our earth so what we know is nothing. For all we know, the earth, the environment, even the universe, are acting just as normal as they always have.

You know what is most likely to kill you at your age? Drunk driving. Either you or being in the car with a drunk driver. Accidents are the #1 killer of kiRAB your age. And alcohol is implicated in a lot of them.

So if you really want to stay alive, drive carefully and use your seat belt faithfully. And never drive after drinking and never get in a car with someone else who has been drinking.

Don't worry about 2012....worry about the drivers around you and with you and YOU.
