Josh,

I used to experience the exact same symptoms as you did. Allergies and congestion kept me form breathing well so anxiety was the result. I found that I developed a conditional called Hyperventilation Syndrome and once that was fixed, I felt like a new person. There is a lot of good information out there but the book that helped me was called Hope and Help for Hyperventilation Syndrome. It really deals with anxiety, panic, and stress and teaches you the reason behind all of your symptoms.

ive been feeling lightheaded but klpopin helps with that a little the doctors tell me i have anxiety but i swear its my heart i get bad chest pains all the time been to the er alot they say its nothing but i feel light headed and chestpains can axiety make you feel like this

plus1more has some great advice. I actually woke up feeling shaky, sick to my stomach. I was like you when the aniexty first startked and went to the doctor and had an EKG. Now my head hurts and I think there is something wrong. I think I have pinpointed what causes mine, but its pretty tough when I wake up and can't go back to sleep.

I go back to see the docotor in a few weeks, to see what is going on with mediciation. But until then I try to breathe, watch a little tv (it helps if you can dvr something you like and watch it), look at photos of my family, listen to music....really anything to take my mind somewhere else other then thinking of my head.

I know this is easier said then done. Good luck.

Hi, Yes, it's one possibility. It's an awful feeling. I've been there, to the ER hooked up to an EKG machine, and nothing. It was anxiety. I got so worked up another time that my shoulder and arm locked up, and I could not move them. I thought I was having a stroke. Paramedics said I had simply sent negative chemicals rushing through my body. I made them take me to the hospital. Again, I got hooked up, and they didn't find a thing. I don't want to go on medication. I learned how to control mine now. I either lie down, go for a walk, or start telling myself to stop my "what if" scenarios. Those are my triggers, the "what if" stories that I create in my head. I catch myself, and stop myself. I remind myself of what I'm doing to myself that I'm creating this anxiety, and I need to stop it. My "what ifs" are not true. I'm creating them. They mostly come from worrying about my family. One other thing I recently read is this woman with the same symptoms that had GERD. Check that out too. Feel better soon.

Yes it can. I went to the er yesterday with the same thing. In my head - I knew it was anxiety - but I could not convince my body of that. Hang in there and I hope things get better for you.

I did Josh. I also have a friend who frequents the ER because of the chest pains. I had the doctor do an EKG on me and my heart was fine and once I found that out, it really helped. Plus, I went to a store's pharmacy and had my blood pressure checked when I having an attacked and that help ease my mind.

I still get pains in my chest, but I know there isn't anything wrong. Did you talk to your doctor about the chest pains? Sometimes that helps.

i get freaked out cause i get lighheaded the most when im walking around outside its probaly in my head but is that just me thinking about it to much or something

Hey Josh... I just wanted to let you know that you are not crazy and I have the off balance feeling, almost like I'm on a boat a lot when I have anxiety. Actually just today I was walking through the store looking around and had NO reason what so ever to be remotely anxious and I started to feel that way and I got a few pretty uncomfortable heart palpitations and I felt very out of it. It went away because I told myself it was anxiety, but why it came then, I have no clue. Lately I've been feeling more off balance and generally uneasy along with waking up frequently in the middle of the night feeling like I can't get deep breaths or just worrying about the fact that something could be wrong with me. I've had Holter monitors, EKG's, Stress Echocardiograms, dopplers, EEG's for my brain, MRI's, MRA's, a test for my inner ear, blood work, I mean seriously for only being 25 I've had more tests than a 90 year old!! All tests have come back perfectly fine except detecting an occasional PAC or PVC (both of which they said are benign), and sinus tachardia I think, but I can't remeraber exactly. Anyway, the Dr. said it was normal and quite common in young healthy people. I will go for months with little to no anxiety and then all of a sudden it hits me like a ton of bricks again and for no reason which is the most scary part I think. That's what makes me think there's something wrong. Even as I'm writing this I have chest pain that's pretty sharp right behind my left breast, but I'm going to ignore it and tell myself that it's nothing. Good luck to you. Anxiety can really beat you down if you let it.

You need positive affirmations to change your thinking. Meditation works for me - I do it twice a day. Exercise is great too.

Hi, I'm not an expert, but you need to find your triggers. I really think you are creating it. See if you can figure out where your anxiety might be coming from. I don't think it's everything and anything. I'm guessing if you dig deep down, you may know what's giving you the anxiety. If you're too lightheaded to walk around then just sit down for a minute. I forgot to mention, listening to music usually works for me, and makes me stop my "crazy" thinking. Hope you feel better soon. Anxiety really stinks!
