Backpacking through Europe alone at age 17?

Hi, im 17 and is planning to travel through Europe for 60 days. Im American and have yet to even finish high school. I want to take this trip during my summer break. I would stay at hostels and buy a eurail pass. Am i too young? Should i try to get a group of friends to go with me or even 1 other person?
 
Yes! You're too young. Definitely go with at least 2 other friends if you must go at all. I would honestly wait until I was a little older though!
 
The more you study where you are going the more confidence you will have. After several days living on your own in shear fear, things smooth out and off you go! You will meet plenty of travelers like yourself. Just be very clear in what is the right choices for you when decisions need to be made..
