Im hoping to be able to organize a backpacking trip with my boyfriend this summer or late spring, we live in central minnesota. because this would be our first trip, and we dont have money for a lot of expensive gear, we are trying to figure out how to make use of things we have around the house or can make. so far, we have a pretty long list of things to MAYBE bring, so i was just wondering if anybody has gone before and can tell me what is important to have and what is really not worth bringing. also any tips would be helpful, or suggestions on what items are worth paying a bit more for. fyi, summer temps in minnesota average around 70-80 degrees F, with thunder and lightening storms possible.
