Backpacking Across Europe this Summer - any tips etc?

My best friend and I have decided to go backbacking in Europe. We live in Windsor (near London, UK) and really want to visit some of the most interesting cities in Europe. We're both 18 so we get youth discounts etc. And we will definitely get travellers insurance.
So far we plan to get an InterRail Europe Train pass which lets you onto any train from a vast amount of different European countries.

But which European countries to go to? The list is too long but which country (and city please) would you recommend?
 
your question is a bit vague but Prague is a must.

visit Croatia there are great cities there and great parties in the summer all over, especially on the coast.
