I was reading today on BBC that the British Foreign Office is warning of an increased terror risk to expats there. However the info is sketchy and it is not clear what this is based on, or why now all of a sudden.
I just wondered in there was more info known by locals as to the background.

P.S. I am aware of the background to terror threats in general and in the MEA region, but I was looking specifically for the background to this alert today

I know of terror threats being the norm nowadays but it is not typical in the UAE (see the report) so this just seemed out of the blue and I wondered why
