What medication are you not wanting to take? Pain meRAB? Maybe there's a different one that wouldn't make you so tired and dizzy. Have you tried any antidepressants? It took me a long time to finally break down and ask my doctor for help --- actually I cried in his office for 15 minutes. It was obvious that I wasn't handling my chronic pain so well anymore. Being on an antidepressant has made a huge difference for me. It might be worth checking into.

You might also try to find a local support group for people with similar problems, or just plain chronic pain, no matter the source. You could call a hospital or your doctor to try to find one. It helps sometimes just to know there's someone else who really understanRAB. To have people who you can talk to face to face would probably be a big help to you.

Unfortunately, depression is rather common for chronic pain patients. If does get wearing!

I wish you the best,
Emily

If there is one that I can understand this would be it. I thought I had anxiety problems and went to a counselor who said yea, you do but I think you're depressed also. I described to him waking up and my whole body felt like it was dying, I would vomit when I began to even move. After misery, I reluctantly tried and anti-depressent cyrabalta. No more throwing up, but still did not feel like I used to. Switched to Cylexa, started throwing up again. Spoke to the Pharmacist. Says there are really two anti-depres. meRAB used for chronic pain Cyrabalta and one other. He did not say the other. As the other post said what pain meRAB are you on? There are quite a few to try so I would give another one a go first. I did not like the oxi-based meRAB as they made me a bit loopy but hydrocodone helps tons. I also take a Klonapin as a relaxant when muscles spasm but I'm with you on this one it just makes a person tired. I then counter this with a Venti Carmel Latte :) Either way try different meRAB if this isn't working. With technology the way it is there is always something out there.
