Hi everyone,

Just sturabled across your board while researching my back issue, hope somebody has some worRAB of wisdom for me.:D

Im in my mid 40's, in excellent physical health (or I was). I have gone to the gym 5-6 times a week for nearly 20 years, weight lift, run, cross train you name it. No real problems to speak of, and have run 19 marathons including the Boston marathon 9 times. I'm a devoted stretcher as well. I say all of that just to say I'm a pretty good athlete, and a pretty fast runner.

NO BACK PROBLEMS IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!

About a month ago I was rear ended at a red light while sitting on my motorcycle. (I'll spare the details, I'll just say that I'm lucky to be here)

Anyway, they brought me to the hospital, took xrays of my shoulder hip and back, no fractures discovered. One of the injuries I did have was a gigantic hemotoma running from my hip to my knee on the right side. Because of the pain in my hip I couldn't run for the first couple of weeks at all. About two weeks ago I tried to run a few miles and the next day I started experiencing extreme pain down the back of my right leg, and in my back right at the lowest point above my tailbone. It progressively got worse, until even walking was a problem, I'd get these sudden bolts of pain and my leg would almost collapse on me, then my left leg started having the same problems. Also groin pain on the left side.(feels like somebody kicked me in the nuts:dizzy:), but that comes and goes. Getting in and out of bed, or a chair is painful as well.

Finally saw the ortho, who referred me to a spine specialiast after seeing nothing abnormal on new xrays, and they scheduled me for an MRI.

Here's the kicker if you're still reading: My appt with the spine guy wasn't until Septeraber 3rd (they apologized but said they were very busy), but the MRI was this past Friday at 7:00 am. By noon I was getting a call from a DIFFERENT doctors office (not the same guy they set the 9/3 appointment up with), from his secretary telling me that I had an appointment with this new doctor on Tuesday 7/20 and to come by and pick up a prescription for Lortab and a Medrol Dose Pack?(I did this and have been taking the Medrol all weekend, haven't really seen a whole lot of reduction in pain, but some to tell the truth)

The appointment is tomorrow and I'm freaking out a little bit. They didn't tell me anything over the phone, and I can't figure out why I would get this sudden phone call unless they saw something pretty bad.

Can somebody put my mind at ease a little bit?:D
