back pain

i have this awful sudden pain in the right side of my back when i sneeze, walk down the stairs,when i am sitting down and try to stand up also when lying down and want to turn over,i have been to the doctor and awaiting a physio appointment,it has been like this nfor a couple of months now,i have tried pain killers also heat and cold on the area but nothing is working it has got to the point that it keeps me awake at night, what do you think it could be
 
Where specifically on your right side? At your waist, bottom of the spine, upper back? Is it a stabbing pain and does it hurt when you are not moving?

the pain is at the bottom of my back and in my right buttock, it doesn't go down my legs, the pain is a sudden pain that feels like a mighty electric shock, it doesn't hurt when i'm not moving it just aches all the time because it happens so often in the day and worse at night cause i am a fidgeter in bed
