For the last week, when I go to bed, the right side (middle part) of my back is in such excruciating, throbbing, pulsating pain, that I can't sleep. So I take something for the pain and half to sleep on my lounger in the living room. Once the pain goes away, I can go back to bed but when I wake up the pain is there again. During the day, my back doesn't hurt at all. It's a mystery to me. What do you think it can be. I haven't fallen or injured myself before that.

linsey15,

I would suggest getting an appointment ASAP with your primary care physician. It's possible that you have a kidney stone or other kidney problems causing your pain, but your PCP can help sort it out.

It doesn't sound as though your problem is coming from your spine.

Warm wishes!
