Hi Matt! So sorry you are having those spasms. Have you had them for a long time or is this something new? If you have had them for more than a week or they are causing you alot of pain be sure to follow up with your doctor. To just name a few things, muscle spasms can be caused by a spinal problem, pulled muscles, muscles being overused or inactivity, restless leg syndrome, thyroid problem as well as deficiencies in vitamin D, low magnesium and anemia.

Here are some things I do for muscle spasms:

*When lying down flat on your back, be sure to put a couple pillows under your legs so that your legs are bent.
*If you are lying down on your side, try adding a pillow between the legs near the kness.
*Try hot baths or soaking in a nice hot spa
*Try bananna's, potatoes or oranges for potassium
*Try gentle stretching
*Stay away from acidic fooRAB such as tomatoes/vinegar as they can interfere with the absorption of calcium/vitamin D
*Some people say to try sleeping with a bar of ivory soap tucked under the covers of your bed near your feet. Supposedly their is something in the soap that helps with the cramps. It did not work for me but I have read it helps alot of people.

I hope these suggestions help you out and I pray that you soon find some relief. Please keep us posted and let us know if anything works for you. We care.
